Sheru was founded in 2019 by Ankit Mittal, Nakul Mehan and Shikhar Sharma, who had worked on battery technology at GreyOrange. We first met the team in 2017, when they pitched a high-speed electric motorbike called 42 Energy, and stayed close as they pivoted several times in search of a product.
In 2019, after the founders went full time, we led Sheru's first funding round. Sheru aggregates distributed battery storage into an energy bank that can be dispatched to the grid, an early Indian example of the virtual power plant.
